A Discussion post connects to course content and gives participants a place to complete required writing, discuss their thoughts, ask questions, etc. Discussion posts can be used during sync sessions as a place for real-time written discussion or during async work as place for participants to share their reflection.

Remember to choose the category “Discussions” in the sidebar and make sure “Posts” unchecked.
